JONATHAN BENSTED – DIRECTOR

Jonathan is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer specialising in sustainable energy technologies and their development. His work in this field has included engineering consulting, development, construction and operations activities at different stages, on a range of hydro, biogas and marine energy projects. He is the founder of Hydroventura SpA and Dragon Hydro Ltd which operate proprietary hydro generation assets in Chile and the UK respectively. Other achievements include project directing the implementation of a 16MW-47MW waste to energy power plant, in Santiago, Chile, one of the largest of its kind in Latin America. Previous to this he helped grow the UK Renewable Energy department at engineering firm Black & Veatch. While there he undertook numerous in-depth technical and economic studies for a range of clients including various investors and the UK Government. Early in his career, Jonathan was responsible for the engineering design, management and successful delivery of a water treatment project in Northern Chile as well as numerous other water related infrastructure projects. Jonathan speaks fluent Spanish and holds a Master of Engineering Science degree from Oxford University.

FERNANDO GONZALEZ – REGIONAL SEARCH COORDINATOR

Fernando is a highly experienced Civil Engineer who has worked in multi-displinary teams on diverse projects within Chile with ENDESA and more broadly in Latin America. Through his consulting company, ICP Ingenieria S.A. he specialises in the coordination and delivery of technical engineering services in the small hydro sector with a present focus on clients within Central America.

ANGELLA RAINFORD – INVESTMENT DIRECTOR

Through her company, Rekamniar Frontier Ventures, Angella originates and develops business opportunities in developing countries. Rekamniar works with strategic local and international partners to add key technical and operational capabilities to opportunities. Rekamniar has been successful in raising development and project financing for several projects included a flag-ship 50MW utility solar project in Jamaica. Her focus is on energy efficiency projects, including both conventional and renewable energy solutions.

LUZ VARGAS DIAZ – LEGAL COUNSEL (CHILE)

Luz has more than 10 years of experience in water, commercial and civil matters. She specialises in the integration and combination of business and legal strategy. Among others, Luz worked for Thames Water Latin America in Chile as a legal director for 5 years at the corporate level where she was also on a Board of Directors as a director or a legal secretary. She has extensive experience in due diligences, takeovers and acquisitions. Luz holds a Master of Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a law degree from Universidad de Chile.

JUAN ENRIQUE OSSA FRUGONE – ADVISORY BOARD (CHILE)

Juan Enrique has over 30 years of experience in civil engineering design, construction and management. He is the Managing Director of ICAFAL Engineering and Construction S.A, a major Chilean construction company specialising in water infrastructure projects. Juan Enrique and his team have significant in-house small hydro construction capability with recently completed two projects: 55MW Los Hornitos and 19MW Lircay. Juan Enrique is a member of Chilean Chamber of Construction.

GUILLERMO RUIZ PEREZ – ADVISORY BOARD (CHILE)

Guillermo is the Managing Director of the Hidrosan Group, a hydraulic engineering conglomerate with a turnover in excess of $USD 100 million per year. Hidrosan specialises in design, environmental impact assessment, as well as management of owner / operator of water-related projects. Guillermo has worked with numerous groups on project evaluation including the World Bank and Thames Water. He is a Lecturer at the University of Chile and is an advisory board member of three major Chilean water companies.
